..The Plasmatics dominated worldwide press while performing to millions around the world with their legendary stage antics and rebellious Punk Rock message. They went on to become revered as the most outrageous, controversial, successful Punk Rock bands in music. At the height of their worldwide success bassist, songwriter and keyboardist for the band Jean Beauvoir set out in pursuit of his own solo career.
He left the Plasmatics on the advice of David Lee Roth (Van Halen) after the release of the Plasmatics "Beyond the Valley of 1984" album. He then turned down offers by Prince and Billy Idol to pursue his dream of a solo career. When none of the labels would take a chance on a Plasmatic who wanted to sing, Steven Van Zandt convinced him to join his group Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul. The venture with Steven Van Zandt allowed Beauvoir to once again tour extensively however, this time he was allowed to show the world his talents outside of his notorious Plasmatics past. He stayed with Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul for two albums until he decided to continue pursuing his own solo career.
After meeting with Gary Kurfirst (The Eurythmics, Talking Heads) he was signed by Richard Branson of Virgin Records who gave him his own label with full artistic control for his solo album Drums Along the Mohawk. When "Drums Along the Mohawk" was released it proved the raw talent of Jean Beauvoir yet to be unleashed upon the world as a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer. The solo debut album Drums Along the Mohawk went multiplatinum when released.
Since releasing 'Drums Along the Mohawk" he has collaborated (written and/or produced hits) with KISS, The Ramones, John Waite, Debby Harry, NSYNC, Lionel Richie, Nile Rodgers, Desmond Child, Doro Pesch and many others, including five Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame inductees. His music has been included in well known, successful films throughout his solo career including Cobra (Sylvester Stallone) - Pet Sematary (Stephen King) - School of Rock (Jack Black) - Christmas with the Kranks (Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis and Dan Aykroyd) - Rock 'n Roll High School Forever and many more.
Beauvoir, who recently re-released Drums Along The Mohawk to a select few radio stations is seeing an increased interest in music from the album as multiple songs have been hitting charts on various radio stations.
